Not feeling it myself. Why would you want to take the crystals out of the picture and just use straight vitality in the exchange? By doing that they would have to re-think how to incorporate the titles that can be won in UBP. Not to mention the other rewards for ranking going out the door and players losing out on a whole lot of silver and exp when they gather their crystals from battles. Sure that would be a decent trade for a partner like mugetsu, but not when the end result is everyone has him. And think of what the players who spent all the money to get him already would think of that. It would be a smack in the face to them.

But that's just the surface stuff with a change like that. If there willing to give a partner like that for free (regardless how much vitality they cost, vitality is still free. So the partner would be considered a free partner) it would kill their profits because players would question buying any partner after that. Who really wants to drop $200-$500 on a partner that might come out in this new idea at any moment.

Bottom line is red quality partners have to be bought and can never be given away on a regular bases or it would really kill the money they make on them. Players would stop buying them if there's a chance to get them for free. The idea of giving away red quality partners in any event for free is highly unlikely. Even when orange quality partners finally come out the chances would still be extremely low. Even if they were to do a free red quality partner giveaway in an event, (free being for vitality or completing requirements of some sort) it would more than likely be a one time special event. Maybe an anniversary event or a promotional event upon the first release of orange quality partners. But still, I would say the partner would still not be one of the better red quality ones. It would more than likely be one that no one really buys.

In my opinion you would have better luck trying to get them to create mimics of red quality partners that are still gold quality with lower growth rates and devise a system that will allow you to upgrade the color quality over time, as well as their growth rates. (Like how you can increases a partners growth rate through leveling their exclusive level)

if you think about it then the entire ubp event is flawed since people pay money for other characters that come in the event. you may say its not the same amount of money but for some one like me who plays from outside the US where my exchange rate is 6 or 7 dollars to 1 US dollar that my friend is a kick in the balls. Making the event harder to win will level the playing field. i have bought some partners and zanpakuto that came free in ubp so i say everyone should get kicked in the balls not just low level vip
