In Team It's Tough yea, But most the time he does kill what i need him to, so you should just pray he hits what you want him to hit.
Getting him T1 is very hard, But if you do he will basically 1 hit Most Enemies except for a well rounded vanguard.
Side note, I've noticed kirinji with 4th mod overall is seems to be faster than hiki, So if properly stacked, he can sh*t on players that stack hikifune and don't even take damage.

I love facing yama stackers, Since unless you are T1 my Hikifune just nullifies you xD
