Question about events

Am i right in saying that some events are continuously rotated? And if so some events such as the current event "Ultimate bp" require you to get a crazy amount of ice crystals in order to exchange for Isshin. The question im trying to ask is if the event ends and you are left with say 100 ice crystals, in the next rotation of events the ultimate bp event will reappear eventually and when it does do you keep the 100 ice crystals or do they dissapear?

Also when you get the rewards say for 500 ice crystals, is that spending 500 or is that you reached 500 youve earnt this and you keep the 500 you have
