What is the stat called "modify"?

So a friend asked what is this stat called "modify" and i honestly thought that person for some reason ment modification... but i was wrong... and i have no idea what this stat actually is... so could anybody explain to me what this stat means & does?

This is damage rate. If you go over to formation and hover over your character it shows up as damage rate. Its what set bonuses add.
