Is mugetsu outdated?

yes he does, u can see it in exclusive list, page 6, but it unlocks at lvl 70, which costs 33k exclu frags
im not sayin hes bad, but he aint great either, and even if u go the cheap way and do small tops and try to get him in karakura event, i still dont see him worth that gold which can be spent or saved for a zanp like rj
and like i said, to me mugetsu seems more pvp oriented than pve, he does silence to which allmost all partners are immune so thats a waste, hes fury steal could be useful and not really, since quite alot of assaulters have immune fury deduction, the 190% special is good but nothing out of the ordinary, better yet save ur gold and just go for muken, mugetsu was end game partner last year, with muken now, mugetsu its just too damn over priced, he does look cool but still 20k gold in karakura is still way too much

If you could afford Mugetsu you're better off getting TSI.

heh, better yet, if he can afford a 20k partner, rj is 30k in karakura, in a few events with topup he can get rj

Why buy Mugetsu then he's destined to get to UBP sooner or later? Also, if you're going to buy something then there are lots of better choices than him. Also yes, someone mentioned Muken. I also think there will be more OP champs added to inferno shop later on.

So:
Do not buy Mugetsu.

hmm i wouldnt say he is out dated just yet.. as it has been mentioned if u get mugetsu u will need 2 minimal supports to fully utilize him.. combined with noble isane (if u want to keep the combo rate assault ) and hiki and a decent vg u'd be fine.. but i will agree to his price not being worth it anymore... and i do also agree that there is better alternatives but that doesn't make him outdated there is still use for him.

he quite is actually, hes special with silence and 3x random fury deduct is useless against many tavern partners and even the all too common free yama from soul cultivation, most of suports have immune silence as do most of assaulters have immune fury deduct, for pve unless u run a cute with a kisuke or sgin and one of them to combo atleast once, he wont skill every turn in pve. for pvp, hell even white ichi is much better and half the price in karakura event, and white ichi's special is actually much better for pvp than mugetsu's, even a brenji is better for pvp due to hes death mod, and i can go on.
some1 mentioned koga , he can get koga if hes too far from muken, from ultra hero for a 15k top up with a double gain, 15k gold to use for somethin else and get koga with the points from doing a 15k top. mugetsu solo and even stacked its just too much of a waste, even if its bought from karakura with small topups over time/events.
when the imediate gains are even slightly better from 2 yellow type event partners such as white and brenji, even red type or quality, mugetsu is an outdated and overpriced red patner.

just my opinion about takin a partner that can "ride 2 boats with one ass" so to say aspect , why bother takin 1 partner thats good in pvp and only  "so so" in pve, when there are plenty others who are good in both pvp and pve for same,lower or even half the price ?

after you saying all that, you forget 1 thing.. mugetsu hits like a fuckin' truck compared to most on ur list and combine with the correct ppl he is definitely better than brenji and w.ichi.. combined.. he can still be utilized quite well if you know what u r doing.. and anyone that thinks otherwise still have alot to learn from this game.

Imagine this setup in pve:

zan - tensa
partner - (hiki +fury booster), (main + brenji + mugetsu)

This might work.
