They both have their pro's and cons...
Red Byakuya
Pros:
-easier to obtain base partner
-faster to mod
-death skill mod (good for Void, it seems)
-can equip red hogu
-with ex-skill also usefull in pve
-potentially higher stats due to growth rates as red partner
Red Byakuya cons:
-turning him red might take a while (unless enough RR from events is obtained)
-rather mediocre skill in regards of damage and usefulness; only really usefull in PVP when speed is a crucial issue and when paired with an apppropriate, speed-enhancing zan (Senbon, Sode, Tensa)
-pulling out the potential of his high growth rates requires much/strong enhancing materials (high lvl stones, hogu, etc.)
Yama pros:
-better skill (higher growth rate/damage; burn, heal and fury restriction give additional advantages in PVP)*
-will probably have better stats most of the time (especially when both partners just have started been worked on)
Yama cons:
-slower to mod
-no red Hogu
-slow partner (can be a plus, depending on strategy)
-rather little use in PVE
*I also beg to differ with Mylar about Yama's use in Void. With his burn, Yama can do quite the damage. A notable part of my damage in void is inflicted by Yama's burn. |
