stacked is basically focusing on 1 partner and getting it as strong as possible .. while weakening your main....
so basically if your using 6 lvl 10 str spirit stones on ur main.. and 6 lvl 10 str on lets say yama.. then you should be combining them to make 6 lvl 11 str stones and putting them on yama so he hits harder and defends against physical attacks better.. also when u are stacking a partner.. all your exclusive fragments are dedicated to that one partner.. with the occasional increase to another.. such as ur vg or support.
