sounds like an obvious choice...  you just wanted someone to tell you you were on the right path...

kukaku is your key...  raise kido defense on all, let that Muken survive 20 rounds to skill 20 times, duh...   all other options are pointless...

valk deals more damage than kukaku, but you have plenty of phy def, so he's not much other help, Isane Kotetsu is fantastic too, but won't help your muken to survive as long as that much extra kido defense...

Oh well i guess my actual experience with those partners doesn't count, i'm sure you know a lot more than i do about void and who's better between Gerard and Kukaku *sarcasm intensifies*
No btw for real Gerard is much better than her if we talk about def halos, the reason is very simple: 100% extra strategy def + 50% from hasch is just overkill, with that even 300k def would be enough to get 5 damage by enemies in void, while even with a 500-600k physical def you'd still get damaged (and even killed if hasch dies).
Gerard is much more balanced, with him even hasch would have more chances to survive meaning Muken as well would have higher chances.
About Isane, she's not important and does not help survive at all if you have vampirisme enchant on Muken (I heal 10m hp per attack with that enchant during void so yea), she just increases Muken damage rate by 25% and that's quite helpful, i didn't say she's a must, defenetly get Gerard over her, but Kukaku is just pointless trust me. The obvious choice is not the wrong one, if that's what you mean.

the guy plainly said that phy damage is not his problem, that kido damage kills him fast as fuck, telling me that phy def isn't needed, but kido def is...  

I didn't say valk was a bad choice, I plainly said he would give more damage output than Kukaku, but if kukaku helps him tank more rounds, muken's damage output would greatly outshine valks, period...

if he needs more kido def, kukaku is the right choice, if he needs raw defense, valk wins...  with no need for extra phy def and obviously most of his raw damage output is comming from muken, and he needs lots of raw kido def to tank more rounds in void, kukaku should be the right choice for him, simple logic

With Kukaku he'd last 9/20 rounds, after RJ def buff runs out he wouldn't have enough phy def to survive, the only reason he gets so much damage from strategy attackers is the fact that he didn't give good wisdom stuff to Muken, otherwise there's no way he'd get 2m damage from strategy attacks even with RJ buff, he just needs to increase that strategy def.
Kukaku could pay off sooner than Gerard Because all he needs is some strategy def now (even tho he'd not survive more than 9 rounds or less), but later when he'll have enough strategy def to make things work out even with Gerard he'll wish he got him, because it's hard to keep Hasch alive against some void and the physical def won't be enough.
For void I have exactly the same team he'd have if he got Kukaku and trust me when i say he'll regret focusing only on strategy def later; 400k physical def is a 100% death without RJ's buff, even i die sometimes (exactly because it's hard to keep Hasch alive) and my Muken has 700k def.

didn't take into account that RJ's buff would wear out after 9 rounds, my bad...

as for his strat def, he might well need that stuff on supports, however with his amount of coupons I"m surprised he doesn't have gear full of level 12 stones...

valk does get more merrits now that i'm taking into account RJ's "buff duration" if that makes sense, still, if he can't come up with the kido gear to boost his muken, Kukaku still has a place in the decision IMO

also, yeah, my TSI is over 400k p def and I run Hyorin and can't tank a single hit last I checked

That amount is photoshopped, he actually has 14k
