Is it not the potential, that the character can grow to. with the least amount of stones/gear. They can still be op. I.e hiki/kiri = lv4 agi stones will still make them very fast.

So. Higher growth rate = easier to make more op.

But wouldn't it be something to do with base stats + level?

Like whatever the base stats of a character is (lets say 4800 str, 5.2 growth rate on a lvl 120 character), that stat goes up by 5.2% each level so it becomes 34752 str?

Idk 240 str every level seems quite low, and the apparent lvl 120 stats, but I guess this is indeed only counting base stats and literally nothing else, so I guess these numbers make sense

i recorded these trying to figure it out but no idea
tavern aizen, no any bonuses, host mod soul, zanpakuto etc, fresh out of the tavern
               base growth    lv    actual

even fresh out of the tavern isn't good enough once you refresh stats change

didnt refresh, and when you refresh its usually just the host mod soul added on

This entire thread amuses me, for several reasons (besides the fact that I started it)...

First, and foremost, just looking at the various posters on this thread, there are several players who are high level/veteran players, and I know from reading this, that like myself, none of us actually truly know how growth rates work. I mean I have done research on it, similar to what the one guy posted of checking stats before/after leveling and adding stats via gear and such, and I have an advanced degree and actually had done work with statistical math and data forecasting, and even I haven't figured out exactly how the hell growth rates work.

Second, and actually more entertaining, is seeing people occassionally posts thing like "zomgs new partner has X growth rate!! they so much more OP then _____ who only has X growth rate", when in reality the fuktards who post that have exactly no idea what they are talking about....but since no one else knows either, everyone is all like, "YEAH!! So much OPness from that growth rate!!"

Well, secretly I was hoping that someone was going to be like.."A guide was posted on this 2 years ago linked *here*", and then I was going to be all like, "Ah ok, tnx!".

But that was my secret, wishful thinking. My realistic-self assumed this thread would serve nothing other then to confirm my suspicion that everyone else knew about equally as much as I did on the topic, which is relatively nothing.

So, the thread was not pointless, it had several points, to which each of them were served.

ok here's the thing. put same gear on these char;

Tenjiro Kirinji with Agility 5000 (Growth 5.2)
vs
Kirio Hikifune with Agility 3500 (Growth 5.3)
guess what, hiki are slightly faster than kiri. that Growth 0.1 extra really matter.

From experience, characters with higher growth rates have had notably better stats, so I can't really argue it's wrong to make that assumption.

I have conducted some tests and everything is indicating that the growth rates arre a simple arithmetic progression(AP), like the reiatsu, that is multiplied by the value showed in the char grade. Ex: ganju STR growth is 1.1, so he multiplies the defaut AP by 1.1.
