You get a vanguard before anything, the purple vanguards become to weak when you get up in those levels and don't do well in trials, palace, espada or PvP. Should have gotten Sajin as soon as you hit 70. Then get Yoruichi, then get Ikkaku. IMO. Ikkaku will be a lot better for PVE.
Get Ikkaku, skip using a vanguard in Ryoka.
Use Zabimaru if you have it.
This will help you earn silver a lot faster.
