Renji vs rangiku

rangiku is nice and her crits hurt but her damge rate is subpar to renji unless im not building her correctly.
i did forget to say i do have full sets up lvl 4/5 crit and str jades for both atm
Renji's better imo, it's who I use as of right now. Her damage to me is compairable to Ichigo's. Renji seems to be really powerful. Kinda depends on how long they last, too, as well as what you're fighting. If you're fighting something with a high counter rate, Rangiku won't crit much. Toyally agree with MisterMusashi, but get a higher counter rate is hard or not if you pay. Renji for the win Edited by Glasglow at 2014-8-10 03:56

She does WAY more damage than Ichigo, and thats a fact, ichigo is generally about one of the weaker assaulters, weaker than most Purples, then again, what did you expect from a free partner?
As for the question out of which , well they are both good, but Renji is probably slightly better, but then again, Rangiku was a free top-up assaulter you got at the begging of the game, so she was basically a stepping stone until you could get a better one at 50+.
Stat wise, they are about the same, there is no big difference, but the difference is that - Rangiku does 180% damage to vanguards and has a 35% crit chance buff with her special skill, while Renji does 200% and has a 20% damage buff after his special skill.
So basically it comes down to preferance if you like crits or stable damage. Renji does 40% more damage (additively , not by 40% in total) but Rangiku has very high crit chance, somewhere around 70% without stones, so if the enemy has no crit counter, he is in for a lot of pain. If Ichigo is spirit stoned right he does more 1st round dmg than Rang and his fury attack isn't to to terrible.
Once people get counter stones up in the 6/7/8 area, Rang begins to become shit dmg. If she don't crit her dmg is terrible. I've had them both in the same gear, same lvl 6/7 stones Str/Crit/Agil and her non crit dmg was crap, and her crit dmg was meh. Nice post Sakai, totally agree, Renji is better than Rangiku, her crits become less effective later on. Take time to switch to renji, and Yachiru/Sado built right totally mitigates Rangiku, you'd have better chance with Ichigo (imo) or Lisa as a better choice to ichigo as you bypass VG, and only need high enough hit chance/break defense to build fury(rukia if on team/fury stones if you have them).
