for PVP purpose, yachiru is so damn good and annoying. that's why i like her.
especially because dodge make enemy can't use skill (when i meet stronger people, dodge save me a lot of time). ;P
well, she not so much good in pve but by give block stone, she can give a lot of block too. (tough not as much as chad)
There needs to be a higher level version of adult or teenage Yachiru when they introduce red partners in the tavern. She's the only female tavern tank, and really the only serious female tank (sophisticated Rangiku is a joke character). Harribel should have been a tank, not a support.
If you're at the level where you're debating which of these two to get, all I can think of is: you should be focusing on PvE, not PvP. Why? Because in the long run, you'll grow enough where you can actually worry about PvP. If you're PvE isn't good, you won't grow as much. For the previous stated reason, I'd go with Sado Yasutora. Since you won't be keeping these two forever (or at least I think you won't, because there's better partners later), I would just go for the Block %, since it's infinitely more useful later on than Dodge. Hit rate is rather easy to obtain, Break Defense? Not as much. With that said, hope you have a nice day :)

Yachiru would be better, if don't have t1 and u want to survive, so next turn you win, sado would just plainly die, super early on everyone just gets sado, because of block and decent counter, when added.

Sado is quite versatile that can help in both PvP and PvE (except ES/Ryoka). He's got decent block rate which helps you survive, and he doesn't need too much pampering to be considered useful early on.
Yachiru, on the other hand, needs some attention to actualize her true potential. You'll need high level dodge stones to make use of her, and she'll reward you with favorable outcomes. Note that I'm speaking in terms of early to mid game stages, as later on most people will counter her with high level hit stones. My main is currently level 96, and in about 5-6 days, I'll be 100 and I'd replace her with Starrk. It's thanks to Yachiru that I can clear more than half of the CSB pyramid, and it almost seems surreal to get past certain point considering all other people around me has Hiki, B. Renji, and some other high end partners. The only way I lose is when BP gap is over 300k, otherwise I've always tried over and over till I win. Also, I immediately lose when someone has Ryujin, even if we're same BP, and it gets really annoying but can't really help it. Lol
To sum it all up, you can settle with Sado if all you want is to clear PvE instances, and to maintain a good rank in arena. But if you wish to do more than that, and even put up a fight in CSB (for newer servers like ours), then you can count on Yachiru. Just be responsible with raising her stats, her HP and such. I personally used both, but I gotta say Yachiru served me so well, allowing me to stay within CSB top 10 despite being 200k-ish lower than everyone else's BP there. You'll be taking risks with her, and hope she dodges the opponents main/strongest partners so they couldn't skill the next turn. I'm lucky that none of the opponents I take on has t1 yet, as that would be a completely different story. I'm gonna make Starrk red quality as soon as I hit 100, and I'm grateful for this tiny partner for helping me survive fights this early.
P.S. Our server is 2 months old, and Yachiru made it possible for me to hold top 1 firmly. Maybe I'm just lucky cause the highest VIP we got is maybe VIP 6, so as an F2P, I was able to get to the top without getting really overwhelmed by monstrous partners/zanpakutous. Even at ~170% hit rate, they still couldn't do much against my Yachiru so it's all very worth it. I'm just not sure about other servers, there's just no winning if you're up against very high VIPs. =/

The fact that you whiffed out a VIP is sad, just goes to show that VIP users don't mean anything as long as you got the basics of this game down and know what you're doing and what your putting into your Partners even if they are Tavern Chars.
