Mutilate was applied before invincibility buff was. The mutilate would of missed if Koga died from Shunsui's skill. Xallog replied at 2017-6-23 20:54 static/image/common/back.gif

That's only because zanpakutos ignore invincibility. Like Mayuri said, you need to have the invincibility buff on before Koga dies to avoid being affected by mutilate.

Your Yama got a combo from your main character. Mutilate damage does not happen on combo because of a bug, I believe, but this might just be a visual bug and it is actually still happening invisibly.
