Looking for some Advice

Hey guys, bit of a newbie and wanted some opinions on a few things in game.  As a reference, my server is now a month old, and I just hit lvl 89 with 53 reiatsu.

My current formation is Kirinji, Kisuke, Ikakku, Kido Main, and Toshiro...currently switch Toshiro out for Shin Grimmy during events.  I am currently focused more on pve than pvp...first row csb is enough for me
I looked around the forums and have a general idea of where I want to go, but wanted to ask a few things and get some input.

1.)  Once I hit lvl 90 in a day or two, I was planning to get Kenny to replace Grimmy for events.  However, I don't plan on upgrading him so is his slightly better growth and 300% skill dmg + block buff every other turn yield enough dmg output over Grim's 170% every turn plus extra depending on fury crits to justify recruiting him?

2.)  Since I'm still new to events, will day 6 of Reio Gaurdian have the cyclone set for 5 points again, or does it vary each event cycle/was a one time mistake?  Was planning on getting my last 2 advanced sets cheap there, but if they permanately changed the cost would it be best to wait until treasure box and get 2 sets for 3000g + extra stones and other resources?

3.) My server started during the recent Hiki UBP and Seireitei Atk.  I'm not a huge spender so I figured it would be best to focus on several Seireitei Attacks first before going for a UBP partner or zan?  Unless maybe Tensa pops up...Yes I'm planning on switching over to Red Stark at lvl 100 (he's one of my favorite characters) and figured Seireitei Attacks and Tensa would be the best overall to support him and the rest of my team in pve and pvp.  Also, comparing stats to Tensa and the fact that Jakka is a thing...is there a chance Katen Kyokotsu will ever be added to UBP or is the shield+Crit boosts too stronk for that to happen?


4.) I may not be a huge spender (use a rewards site to top up small amounts when I want, because screw using money earned through actual work), but I could still manage enough to rent someone from limited lease to permanately use...I probably wouldn't top up anything once I get my last 2 advanced sets outside of monthly shinigami agent anyway.  The only two that seem managable and worth it for me are Rajin Yoruichi or Yhwach.  I'm leaning more towards Yoruichi because her bonds are easily accessible and eventually I'll get Muken who would 100% replace Yhwach.  Guess I answered my own question between the two, but are there any not so obvious hidden gems among the rentable partners that I could consider...outside of renting for bonds of course?

5.)  That being said I still need a solid assaulter until Muken once I start to focus on pvp.  When I'm ready, should I go back and recruit/upgrade tavern byakuya or just tough it out with ikkaku until  someone like B.Renji pops up in UBP?

6.) Also, gained the potential to upgrade rank to 5th Captain where it starts to cost you 5k prestige daily.  Should I just continue to up my rank normally, or bank prestige for 2-3 months until I can get to something like Zero Division for the damage rate and avoid injury rate to be more noticable?

7.)  Was recruiting Harribel a good investment since she earns 26 mod frags daily which I can eventually use to inherit for universals?  Also, is it best to inherit at mod 4 or wait until max modify level is reached?

8.)  Soul Cultivation - Should I put an extra 5 - 7.5mil silver daily into it or am I still at a point where I should continue to focus everything on reitsu+gear enhance.  Also figured I'd clear the stones first then exclusively get exclusive frags right?

9.)  Wish I searched forums about protection stones earlier because I just found out today that buying one permanately protects all your gears of that level .  In other words, for 100g I can now easily max infuse all my Aquarias and firelord gear without resistance .  Are there any other little game mechanics like this that I might not have realized ?

If you don't have great partners now, I would definitely go UBP first then SA, especially with the partners they're currently releasing being unknown and simply progressing on how great they are, and with the state that you're in you can secure a future team from what it seems to have no future right now, then you've actually got stones etc. to put on good partners for the future, but either way works depends on how patient you are

The vit events to tend to come back-to-back yea, although it seems it's more SA first then UBP when looking at history of event rotations, so hopefully it can come afterwards for this great timing ^^

She is indeed quite heavily PVE focused and absolutely dominates PVE in comparison to Tensa. I wouldn't recommend it as a placeholder though, if Ryujin is a confirmed purchase later in the future then it would be a waste of resources to obtain Katen, since that Zanpakuto is effective in every PVE situation except Void, while Ryujin works in every PVE situation including Void, it's best to obtain Katen to keep and use as a main zanpakuto than have it as a placeholder ^^

Thanks, I assumed Katen was a glass cannon style Zan.  I was just curious about her because I figured until I got Jakka, or Kyoka if I don't top up, she would be more beneficial to me for PVE than Tensa.

I am saving vit with UBP in mind, but will probably spam SA instead so when I get my end game partners they will provide more of a boost.  I'm not familiar with the frequency of SA vs UBP, but if SA normally comes a week or two after UBP that would be good timing.  I'd probably maintain 4k vit by the end of SA since 6k a month comes pretty easy as VIP w/ shini agent.

Oh you're welcome anytime ^^Oh Ryujin Jakka is a very worthy purchase that you should definitely consider as a 100% confirmed purchase down the line. But I would indeed wait for what kind of formation you've built though, as Ryujin only works effectively with tanky teams or teams that are great with sustained damage, so i'd wait on Ryujin until you know what kind of future you have in terms of partners ^^

Crap I apologise I forgot to mention about Katen in UBP.
If you were to create some sort of "tier list", Katen is in the very top of those alongside Kyoka, Ryujin and Minazuki (potentially Tensa if you want to view him that way).

Since she's part of that list you can't expect them to be available in UBP so soon, however Katen is indeed quite a specific team zanpakuto, made for EXTREMELY offensive teams who don't work on defence but just offence, so even the supporters found in this team are dangerous and are dealing high damage alongside the natural damage dealing assaulters, meaning she could potentially enter UBP soon, especially with their release of Hikifune who pairs up with Katen and Tensa who is also a top tier zanpakuto.
One way UBP partners/zanpakutos are chosen is on how far we are in the timeline of the game, meaning how useful everything is generally. Meaning any specific formation partner has a guaranteed spot to enter UBP pretty much, just like how Shinigami Kensei came in UBP after such a short time. This of course led to Hiki & Tensa's arrival in UBP too as generally their uses have diminished compared to what we can get now.

Another way they decide on partners is the overall sale of them. Now this isn't exactly something they 100% take into and decide whether or not someone should be in UBP or not, as I mentioned, Hiki appeared, which almost every spender has obtained whether they are new or old, so she is continuously bought to this date, but it is a deciding factor. Same for Katen in this way, she is still purchasable for many players but not as purchased as Hiki, especially since she's a specific formation zanpakuto, and with the way this game is progressing in UBP and the game as a whole, you could expect her some time in the near future, at least 2018, especially when she was only created in the part of a "meta" of supports who one-shot the enemy team, a.k.a the Zero Division team (Katen + Oetsu/Hiki/Senju etc.), and that has long gone by now, so Katen's relevance is not so strong anymore, she just has potential to enter UBP ^^



TL;DR - Get Ryujin if you know you're obtaining defensive, sustained in damage/defence partners in the future.
Katen can potentially enter UBP some time in the future due to her relevancy and purchase amount, she's an offence-team specific formation, and with the way UBP & the game is going, you can expect her in the near future in at least 2018, definitely in that year, that is if UBP continues to be a monthly event ^^

SWP Kenny is decent in pvp, prob around H Ichi in raw power, plus his block rate is above average for sure, in pve he's very good in fact with his high damage rate, plus any upgrades you make to him will transfer and intensify over to Noza, if you are even possibly going Noza, I see no reason not to go to Shin Shura...

if you don't see a difference on first set of gear to upgrade, second set should be fine as well, maybe start with weapon just to test as with 5x sets, surely you have an extra aquaria weapon just in case, and page two was my jam for several months

I'm 500,000 from Mugetsu and have been rank 2 since someone on our server got RJ and TSI  XD

Big top up?  Christmas is usually a FANTASTIC set of events...   but any holiday can potentially give you something truly outstanding for a top up...  not long ago I heard of a person that got RJ and a zero division support for $400 if I'm not mistaken

Thank you, I have seen many of your posts around forums so I do trust what you have to say as well.

A) I actually am currently VIP5 so Noza is definitely something to work for...I haven't invested anything into toshiro so is switching to Red Stark that big a deal until I can upgrade Noza or is non upgraded swp Kenny still on par/better than Red Stark/Toshiro?

B) After day 6 of Reio, I should have 5 shuntara upgraded sets (currently have 3 all lvl 60 still), and of course now that I have the infuse stone I plan on maxing infuse first .  I did upgrade 8 pieces to lvl 60 Firelord to have 4-2 on my VG/Main, but the  cost for socket 1 and 2 seems the same and protection stone still works on them so I assume it's fine to upgrade to 4-2 on my second Assault as well?
            Also thanks didn't even notice page 2 rewards in soul cultivation as the stones and 1k frags are nice and all, but at this point they won't provide too much
            Edit - Knowing my luck I'd probably get Dodge and Counter stones anyway  

C) Yeah that notification is already on my nerves so might just rank up anyway since our server is only a month old (merge shouldn't be for a while right?), and I should be able to maintain rank 2.


D)  In terms of topping up, through surveys I could manage probably 600 base gold a week which would get boosted by 100% rebate.  Obviously I'd only top up during bankai power so I had some gold aside to renew shinigami agent when needed at this point, outside of that I figured I'd save until I could do a 20k top up eventually, which set of events would be the best to do a large top up like that?  I'd like to get either something like Jakka or a new Orange support eventually...I'll put my faith in byakuya for assaults until Muken
I guess if Ultra Hero pops up with any recommened events that would be the best time...though I doubt the events would line up like that.

Hey, I give a lot of advice, usually it's good, sometimes I"m a miss so take it for what it's worth and understand most of this is only my opinion...

And I'll keep them numbered like yours to keep it straight to myself...

~~first off, judging from what you have said all together I assume you are at least VIP4, or will end up there sooner or later, so my advice is for people at least VIP1...

1) Kenny's block rate can for real be a big deal if you don't have the stones to get all 3 of your PVE assaulters to cap block rate (and in fact you should do everything to raise their block rates to the max it can be to boost pve damage madly, change refines on equipment, stones, mods...  for events, 100% should be considered all you will need, even after buffs are applied as I don't believe that ES or Ryoka have any form of break defense...  and rather than even a red Tavern Kenpachi and Tenjiro, I feel that Pantera Grimjaw and Cute Orihime will do MUCH MUCH MUCH more damage, and cute orihime is there for fury gain and status effects, so to get good results from her she needs no real work what-so-ever to add a ton of damage...  However, if you did pick up Byaukua, got his exclusive skill, and his death mod you would then have the best tavern assaulter in the game full stop...  he's solid in pvp, great in pve (very similar to Ikkaku's skill in fact only you can make it stronger) and his death mod is fan freaking tastic for weaker players in void, not to mention it does help in pvp and later Ryoka as well usually

2) The set has showen up in Reio like that the last few times it has came around, I'd guess it's here to stay for a while at least

3) SA can be a huge boost, and if i were in your shoes, I'd spend 100% of my vit (except what I may spend in Reio) saving for SA, and hit every other one to get at least top 10 in ranking (I have Shini welfare and if I spend 100 coupons on vit a day I can usually get top 10 every cycle of SA...  also, places 1-3 rewards is less than double of 4-10 ranks, so if you can get top 10 every time vs #1 every other time, rewards are still better to get two 10th places, plus you will end up getting about 2 to 4k more vit to spend in the event too as your vit grows much faster when it's empty...   My guess, Katen might show up 2019, maybe 2020 in UBP

4) Rajin is very good for sure...  Yhwach is a monster and IMO stronger...  check this out to blow your mind...    Yhwach, Muken, Main 8th skill, Kiuske, Cute Orihime in pve...unless you get lucky and pick up someone like Isane Kotetsu as her buff stacks with Yhwach and Muken I believe you can raise that damage much much more I'd wager...  Retsu Kenpachi is (anywhere near her price range) possibly the most vicious pve support in the game...  her 400% damage rate is insane, plus she boosts break def of all supports which is nice vs stacked vangs (along with her insane kido damage which most vangs don't take well), add to that her invurln status effect and she can (if built right) be hella tough for most to deal with... also, if you face a large number of well built vanguards, there is always Bankai Rukia who is any vanguards worst nightmare (save maybe Human Kommomura)

5)B Renji has already shown up in UBP 3 or 4 times, good chance he won't come back...  White Ichigo is a great partner, he's in KTF, plus his price is now 10k total, which is insane for what you get...  Byaukua is hands down the best assaulter from tavern for real...  Yhwach would be nice if you can justify the cost for a part time partner endgame.

6) Some save for mugetsu, I upgraded as I got the points because that reminder is so fucking annoying it isn't even something i can put into words

7) I mod all tavern partners and the one I'm currently working to mod and just inheret them down when I'm ready to mod an event partner...  of course to get the most out of your gold fully mod before you inheret down

8) I spend 26M silver a day on it (less when i get free gold reward)  I got all the stone rewards after i got a few exclusive ones...  first few rewards I'd pick up the lowest level socket stone packs...  each pack can fully socket one set of Aquaria gear (with only one weapon), after 5 of those (you do plan to get 5x ultimate sets, right? and plan to fully socket them all dirt cheap, right?  right!) pick up the stone rewards after that, then exclusives... prob start pumping more than 3x of the 10x claims (if that makes sense) after your daily silver intake passes 50M or so silver...  bring your reiatsu to 60 or 70 for now at least, and gear levels will be much easier after you get shuntara's gear (level stays when you upgrade it!!)

9) protection stones are probably the best value in the game these days, next would be shuntara's upgraded gear (which you got your protection stone for) make sure you socket and spirit infuse the gear when it's still Aquaria as the cost goes up VERY fast with each upgrade

biggest tip in the game...  the more times you change partners and inheret from one to the next, the weaker you will be in the long run...  pick a tactic, pick a team, build it, upgrade it when you must

also, everything in this game is a long grind, gold speeds things up some, but even then it's a long grind...  make sure you dot your I's and cross your T's every day...
oh, and Starrk is just not very good these days...   I know he's your favorate, however, once you hit VIP5 (which sounds like you will/are) Noza crushes Starrk no questions (sorry Zento)...   Toshi is even a much better vang than Starrk...   Noza, TSI, Kukaku...  these are the 3 "cheaper" vangs that will be worth it for you IMO

Yes, I'll save gold by topping up during bankai power until I have enough for her, a new orange support, or Jakka.  As you said, once I get mod 5 on Kisuke in about a month I could t1 4/5 of my team easily if I wanted so building up for pure t1 until I do get that partner will be easier.

Also yes the 1500 point treasure box reward, at least last time around, gave you the cyclone ultimate set which was a nice boost for the extra stones and sets in a new server.
