Quick Question on Passives

It is common knowledge that certain stats have 90% cap rate from spirit stones (block, counter, break def, crit, dodge). If a partner has a passive that increases one of those stats, is that stat increase separate from the cap rate or included in the cap rate.
I.E Yasutora Sado has 18% block rate for his passive. Does that mean with 90% from stones you can get 108% or that you can only get 72% from stones.

I was under the assumption that only Mods and bonds could increase the cap so I think you just don't use as much stones, but I want  to be sure.

while I'm not sure, you could easily check this...  put 78% from stones on him, then put 90% and see if his block rate goes up with 90% vs 78%

the passives (like what they show on the wiki) are basically base. so if your partner has 30% block, thats what he would start with so you would need less stones to get to 90. but only mods/auras/skills will bump that over.

if i recal his natural skill is under the cap lvl too; gotta mod to overcome the wall of any block counter whatso ever

Nope, the passive doesn't break the cap.

so lets say i give my hichi all block from mods, it pushes the cap past the 90% right?

ya  mods will go past 90%
but make sure youre at 90% before you mod
