This is is not a democracy this is a forum with a mod who is supposed to keep the peace.

Too much leg room to discuss/debate rules and you end up with people not respecting the ones in place. Too strict and you end up with discontent amongst the members.

Appeals are a waste of time, if you have been banned it is because you have done something to deserve it.

Also..the fact that people are arguing for the ability to swear on forums does nothing but highlight their immaturity.

Certain standards should be maintained.

That depends on how much peace we really need to keep. The discontent amongst members is where we were at, otherwise this thread wouldn't have materialized. There is certainly a blurry line between what is simple trolling and what is cyber bullying and that's where the mod's discretion is needed. I certainly agree that we do need standards but we also need to allow people to voice opinions freely as long as it's not hurting or overly offensive to other members. And it's certainly not a democracy, but there should be a place for our already aggravated group of people to vent. Just my opinion ofc, feel free to debate XD

The problem is the discontent seems to be this:

That is not a valid argument, nothing good comes from it..it's just childish

I think the swearing might just be the straw that broke the camels back. The mods do well, the devs (even in TOS as posted earlier) are completely free to not give a .... about any of the
issues we bring up, so the discontent was already there if I'm not mistaken, this just makes a nice big convenient target.

Normally I'd agree with a curse free environment but here it's impossible to do. It's just too late and we'll end up killing the forums since it's half past dead anyway. I've already received a ton of messages on the forums, pm's ingame and pm's on Skype to make it stop.
If GG would have a proper forum with a filter on bad words and a warning system with just 1 click of a mouse button I'd be all for it, the whole reply with "warning for x or y" is just lame and looks super silly.

Changing the system into banning users for saying offensive stuff towards another is fine with me. The beef curls had with that "viet"? guy could have stopped way earlier with a warning/ban.

I do have to add that most people that voted for option #1 are barely active. Half of them have names I don't even recognize.

Yes I agree, I guess it would be too much for me to expect adult behaviour in a forum full of children.

At least I tried though.. you could always make me a mod to sort out which kids need a time out

That being said, the moment someone is abusive to another player; ban them.
