Kinkerbel has a good point, here, Keyho... The greatest part about the "support" team members are that they are simply for support. Their skills are your tactics here, not so much their strength. (Granted, Kido damage is pretty severe in most formations, especially when you reach the 110-120 range).
Yoruichi and Harribel both will do what you want them to do, and you can practically strip them of their spirit stones and not even tell the difference. My idea of a great supporter like this is one who has super high speed, and always goes first no matter who you're fighting.
Retsu might want a few more stones, just to boost her healing powers?? But I honestly don't even know how true that is... Let's say your Retsu would be at level 90 and your Vanguard has around 1 million HP. Whatever her growth rate is, she's going to be healing a good portion of that million HP, simply bcuz its such a large number!! Does that make sense? So, let's include a zanpaktou that boosts recovery rate, too! Even more healing power routed towards your defenses, without even trying >.> Then, Retsu being an automatic skill spammer makes her a very formidable opponent/strong leg in your formation.
With these two aspects in mind, you might want to consider your own play style. Do you sway more towards an all-out damage dealing foray, or do you try to overpower your opponent by having super strong tactical advantages?
In my humble opinion, if you truly plan on hiring and using Shin Ulquiorra soon, for his 150% attack all skills +DOT x3 random opponents, I would still replace either Harribel OR Yoruichi with Retsu. Here's why:
Retsu is more of a permanent, pivotal placement partner, meaning that no matter the opponent, she's going to do one or two of two things: Heal, and die. Supporters are always at a higher risk of dying, right? But its better to HAVE a healer than no healer, right???
Harribel and Yoruichi are more or less interchangeable. Just depends on the target you're facing, and THEIR formation.... So, even though I am whole heartedly against having to switch out partners at all to defeat a single opponent... I think Retsu will give you more flexibility and survivability in future fights. Who do you replace? Well, if you can help it, just drop Shin Renji, and go with three supporters. Your Main and your vanguard really deserve those spirit stones he probably has, and, with everything here, you could see the potential advantages you could have IF you possess enough Agility stones for three separate supporters.... But, once you get Shin Ulquiorra, you can definitely get him what stones he needs first (strength/hit/crit/break) and still have plenty of speed left for him after supplying your supporter's equipment. After that, one supporter's gear can be interchangeable between Harribel and Yoruichi. |
