Tricking the lease system

I've been wondering, does anyone know what happens if you attempt to buy a partner you've hired from somewhere else?
Meaning I just rented s.gin for 1day to save the xp scrolls of levling him, but I don't wanna pay 20k upfront, say I get a 50% discount on the new discount event and buy him there?

Will that just remove the "Hired" status, stop me since I already have him or completely break it and do nothing?

this was asked before, and it was bugged at that time and then i heard it worked. ie u get the partner at the latest price that u pay for and that hire option is removed. but havent seen any news about this later. so not sure too

It definitely worked as of the last Reio event.  It's by far the smartest method you can use.  If you ever plan to get any partner that is leasable, lease them first for 1 day then get them from the other event at your level.

Ok so just to make sure I'm following this....ok so say I rent uno kenpachi for 1 day, and i get here from that box event for way cheaper, she will remain at my level and not reset to level 1 when i buy her yea?

Exactly.  I had Soph Rang (had rented her for a few weeks) and picked her up from Reio for free since I got Zang.  She just lost the "Hired" label and became a regular partner at the exact same level/evo/mod she was.

Ok thanks, if it worked last reio it hopefully still works, will try it if I can get a good discount or get him from bleach gift and report back.

And TanakaAiri, yes. This is at least how I meant and it seems to work this way.

EDIT: Just bought shinsou gin for 11200g after leasing him for a day and the rent timer went away and he is still lvl 115. Works like a charm =D
