If you're 1-shotting everyone with Yama I feel like you are either a HUGE VIP or you are fighting fa ...
1: Yamamoto has one of the strongest skills in the game. He one shots ( including his 25% proc that happens before enemy attack ) a very high percentage of the time. His problem is not, and has never been, damage related. His problem has always been speed.
2: Yama mod 4 gives 10% more speed to CSB Bya, himself, and maybe your main. It is probably the strongest mod in a game that revolves around speed. I would literally use him on a PvP team if his skill did 1 damage, and he had 1 health soley for the fact that it gives 10% speed. It is just awkward. If you have no issues topping up, there are better heroes to benefit from the speed boost (Mugetsu/WIchigo/Kensei even, etc). If you want to use free heroes, you probably don't want to spend money on Yama. However, the combination is entirely solid.
As for your point on splitting up damage, it literally makes no sense. AoE compositions have been a thing for quite some time now, and at high level play it is incredibly common to see it. Splitting up damage would be using Ber Renji + Yama. Renji would kill 2 people, but Yama would have just killed those people anyway with his Attack All, etc.
Senbon is the fastest Zanpakuto in the game. If you can go first, you have such a large speed boost that you can often times go second as well. Just another reason why Yama is much better then you seem to want to give him credit for. In the case of CSB Bya + Yama, you would have a +35% speed(Not including the passive Zan stuff), and the opponents would have a -10% speed from Bya's skill. That is a sufficient amount of speed to overcome quite a bit of a speed gap. The trick would be getting CSB Bya to be faster then anyone else naturally before Zan buff, which is costly/time consuming and BRukia or Mugetsu + Yama is a wall you probably can't ever get past when all things are equal. |
