Sort of, but not really.

He does nothing for PvE as your assaulters/VG if you are using one, pretty much have max block anyway.

For PvP he doesn't do anything by himself. He relies heavily on other partners, and given that you already have 1 near useless assaulter on the team, it is hard to justify running 2.

That being said, he does buy you time. Time with things like Per turn defensive upgrades ( both his mod, or VG Fortifies ), can get really scary. He still has the same weaknesses as any defensive character, though. BRukia, Oetsu, damage buff stacking, etc.

would be better if he was a vanguard. i think what happened is that they meant to make him a vanguard but fucked up and made him this. or they wanted to make a completely useless red who is just there. if he had to be a support or assaulter at least give him poison shit. but yeah. my thoughts on him. (kinda late on this since i'v been busy)
