In the New Year event, it says "Red Packet Reward" over Katen Kyokotsu. Does that mean you can get them from the red packets? I'm guessing no but I would like to know.

Red packets likely give points, we just don't know how many yet I don't think?

You just have to buy them directly with gold. I don't know why they say that.

The red packets do give points. Just opened 3 and got 50,50 and 100 points.

Red packets give you either 50 or 100 points. I've opened plenty of them already.
