Totaly wrong,he does keep evo and mod.
Only thing about evo is that you should complete whole lvl,or items will get removed.
About mod you will have to complete his map again,no other restrictions.
Check it myself

I lost both my evo and mods when i upgraded my tosh...
although i only had 1 mod, the mods become completely different, and yea, went from lvl 4 evo to 0.
