Just as comparison. Was about to get the 960 for my gf but then decided to go for the 970.

Doesn't change what you said.
Still, 200 dollars cheaper is worth it, seeing as the 960 can handle pretty much anything I throw at it flawlessly, I'm not complaining.

just wondering but why use a gaming headset when you already have a good mic setup? Is it just a preference for headset's sound over other headphones?
