Is Katen and Tensa worth the price?

as the title says,  are Katen and Tensa worth that outrageous price tag?

Reality:  
Vanguards are going out of style.  If you have a god vang, chances are your not focusing on your assaulters, making Hyorin and Senbon fine IMO
If you focus on Supports, Muramasa is very good and 1/10th of the price
Assaulter focus..  Zangetsu or Senbon

running a 3-2-0 or 2-3-0, Tensa and Katen should be almost a waste as the boost to vanguards are not important

There are Zanpactos for every situation you could come across...  So is that $1000+ price tag really worth it?

I'd say no.  Figure out if your a support heavy, Assaulter heavy, or Vanguard heavy player,  get the appropriate Zanpacto and spend that other $800+ on party, stones, hogus, ect...  maybe I'm wrong but I think it's stupid to spend that kind of money on Zanpactos unless you already have everything else and just want to blow some cash...

I run Muramasa and have never used the top 2....  would love it someone with them and experience with Muramasa/Zangetsu/Senbon to tell me if it's worth that price tag plz...  like if you got Tensa or Katen,  would you get them again?  or spend that gold elsewhere?

Katen's buff to support is like having a 6th partner in formation.

Here's the real question that needs to be asked. Are you a top tier player? Or do you plan to be one? And by top tier I mean on the level of me, bwg, mages, natsu, living dog, brah, deemen, etc etc etc. If you are or plan to be then yes, they are not only worth the price tag but are in fact an absolute NECESSITY to reach those levels. If you are in fact content with NOT being on that level though, then no, they really aren't worth the price tag. As you said, you can get sort of close boosts by using cheaper zanpakuto. So if you're not one of the top players in a very competitive CSB and seeking to overthrow the guy at the top, or keep the guy below you from overthrowing you, then you probably don't NEED to buy either katen or tensa.

are you telling me that the tops have all level 10+ stones,  maxed hogus (level 10 and 11) full mods, hollow souls map full, ect...    AND a max Tensa/Katen?!?!?

I have all lvl 10+ stones (many are lvl 12 stones) of the ones that matter on the partners that matter. I have all my hogus that matter maxed out on the partners that matter, I have all the mods that matter on all my partners that matter. And I have a hogyoku-kai form of every zan currently available in the game. And my Katen is currently nearing full 50's on fortification. All the people I mentioned earlier are similar in bp and power to me, if not stronger than I am. So yes, I am saying that.

Like anything in this game is worth it.

You want to be top dog, buy that katen. You want to be higher tier. Buy cheaper stuff. You want to play and not compete on hardcore level, don't top up.
