Honestly, he can be fun to use in a AoE type formation (everyone attacks full formation) and he is bit of a glass cannon but having said that..Depending on what your looking for PvE or PvP, you could be better off with others like Yoruichi for support stunning since high level PvP relay on supports more often then any other. Also someone like Kisuke for Turn 1 Skilling.
In general though I have seen and used myself Baraggan and can say he can be really nasty when your up against him if he is somewhat stacked. I have even seen my old account's Baraggan one shot enemy formations due to stacking and critical.
Ya, should work good for you. Would suggest Kazeshini or a UBP Zanpakuto. Focus more on Yamamoto just because he can win most fights for you. Just make sure to pile on the damage and speed (critical is important also).
