If you are referring to Bandai Namco, they have a number of Naruto games. They are all Console/PC games.  They are the fighting games usually titled Ninja Storm X. They do not have a browser MMO yet.

There is a number of unlicensed Naruto games, Unlimited Ninja/Anime Ninja/Ninja Classic are all the same game, and is basically the Naruto version of Bleach Online. There is also Naruto Spirit, which was popular for a little while, and Naruto Saga, which died out a long time ago. None of these are licensed/made by Bandai.

The game is a joint venture between Tencent and Bandai though. Tencent has a great deal of online browser games like this.

This game is vastly different then the others you have played. It is a formation system, but it has little to no bearing on individual character strength. Assuming we were equal level, gear, etc, you could field a team that synergizes with just about any characters you want and be at no disadvantage over me with my brand newly released event characters.

There are some slight power differences between characters, but it stems from skills rather then stats/abilities. Tsyukomi Itachi has a unique skill that makes him a great off tank ( he is easily obtained by even F2P ). Orochimaru has a unique skill that when he dies he kills someone on his team and revives at 50% hp. These skills allow for a great deal of strategy, but as with most games some skills may have a better effect then others. But they have not released any characters that are just flat better then previous versions.

This game is probably the only mmo type browser game that has ever existed where a F2P player can LEGIT compete with paying players. The only thing paying players really have access to over you is faster leveling, and more options in terms of character synergies. Even then, it is only temporary power boosts as there is a hard level cap in the game.

You can build a defensive type team with shields, you can build a aoe team, a single target team, etc. There is quite literally a TON of strategy options that never really existed in other games of this type. You can also feel confident that in 3 months they aren't going to release a new hero that is just a +1 over every other character in the game, like they do here in Bleach Online. That being said, it is also likely to be less attractive to heavy VIP users, since they really can't just buy power like they are used to. They might have a advantage in the early game, but there is a hard limit to stones/pets/levels.

Some updates.

It looks like we are getting the German version of the game. It is a ways behind CN. There are a number of nice features that the game does not have yet, such as buying specific characters from card packs instead of gambling for them.

There are only 3 Event characters in this version worth getting so far. Iruka ( Has passive for all konoha ninja ), Sage Naruto and Deva Pain. The last 2 are reasonably difficult to get.

Every other character used is easily farmable.  Even some of the event characters are easy to get, since you get free tries at card packs, and you get scrolls ( usage for card pack tries ) for free. Zabuza/Asuma/Kakashi etc are all easy.

Most top players are only using Iruka. IIRC he is pretty easy to get. The event cycle give Kunai for purchase of ninja, and you can save them, so even free players would be able to get them after some time ( like a month IIRC ). You can even save for extremely high end event heroes like Minato as a free player, but its something like 6 months to get one of them ( but, its like 1700$ if you wanted to buy your way to him, so its all relative ).

Of the top players on Server 1:
36 are Lightning Mains
35 Are Fire Mains
6 are Earth Mains
8 are Wind Mains
15 are Water Mains

Top Lightning is #1
Top Fire is #2
Top Earth is #13
Top Wind is #26
Top Water is #28

Some of the top players on non-server 1 servers do not even use event heroes. For example, On Server 2, the #1 player only has Gai ( and he is super easy to get even for free ). The number 2 player has 2 of the Pain event heroes. Just a example of how a mostly free to play player can literally beat out players with Event Ninja.

I'm a huge fan of Asuma, how does he fair? I'll probably go Lightning, so I'm hoping they pair ok. Also do you have any do's or do not's from the german version? Some games it's easy to screw up characters and get set behind. Is there events to keep you busy all day, or am I looking at completing dailies in an hour or so and be done with the game besides timed events?

Asuma is decent. Most people use him as a tank. He is a good tank for world bosses as well, since he does more single target damage then most of the other tanks. There is also a Reanimated Asuma that was released recently on CN. I don't know anything about him though.

I have not played the German version much, so I can't give you a ton of details on it. There are events that can keep you busy all day, and there are days where you do your dailies and then just timed events.

All element mains have buffs that increase the chakra type. For example, lightning has a buff that gives +40% attack and ninjiitsu to all lightning chakra ninja. They also have other buff choices. Lightning has one that gives +20% attack and immune to status effects, and one that gives +40% ninjiitsu, and if you kill a enemy with a skill, it skips the timer on that skill.

Lightning is a single target main. It is pretty good at it, and it is popular in germany because of the types of Ninja available in the game currently. Lightning has a double attack passive.

Fire is a mix of both, but has a powerful passive that reflects the first status effect he recieves every round to the enemy.

Earth has a few different shield types, and a passive that makes him immune to knockback/knockup/knockdown/repel, which makes him un-comboable.

Wind has the standard buffs, but also buffs females ( any chakra alignment ) and gives shields. Makes her really good with Shadow Clones.

Water is some sort of healer. I honestly don't know much about water, but it doesn't seem overly powerful as most of the good characters are not water chakra. The only amazing water one I know of is Tobirama the 2nd Hokage, and while you can get him in the german version now, hes stupid rare. Something like 5 people have him across 37 total servers. Even if you had him, thats only one. Zabuza and Kisame are unfortunately not great.

As for things to screw up, yeah you can. There are double EXP days for certain activities. Monday in CN is double exp on Elite missions, so its good to save up for that, etc.

But, the german version had a Closed beta before release, and it appears as though we will also be going into Closed beta and not directly into the game release right away. I haven't heard anything about what type of release we have so don't quote me on that, but i would put my money on Closed beta first.

Probably the same, but you are overestimating how much money makes a difference. If on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being completely free game and 10 being Bleach Online, Naruto Online is like a 4.

Well , you easily can play the game f2p , you can even beat people who pay , buttt , its still not possible at all so beat someone who spends a little bit more money .. like... being Jonin makes the difference I´d say , and the huge spenders , well ok no game I know , nearly , is not dominated by huge spenders so yeah...

I agree its better than Bleach , by far. but still , p 2 be better stays ;d
