No u cant make a purple partner to red, only gold. And you dont need gold, coupons is enough.

She can only be gold, even after advancing her 2 times.

it takes coupons. it takes both doesnt matter if you have one or the other.

I just noticed my tavern Yachiru only has partial gold rights.  She still doesn't show up in any of the inherit functions(mods, bonds and exclusives).
