Could you also explain the function of each spirit stones and which one is recommended for vanguard, assaulter, and supporter? I'm new to this game and don't know which spirit stones to use.

Assaulter & Supporter - STR/WIS, AGI, STA, hit, break def, critical, counter

Seven actually, STR/WIS depend on the character's damage type. STR/WIS, AGI, hit, break def, critical occupied one slot each, the last slot for STA and counter (3 pcs of STA and 3 pcs of counter).
If you have plenty of high rank stones (lv10+), you can distribute the stone of assaulter and supporter in STR, WIS, AGI, STA, hit, break def, critical, counter. STR, WIS, AGI, critical occupied one slot each, last two slot for STA, hit, break def, and counter (as hit, break def, counter lv10 stone +30%, 3 pcs of them will reach the cap).
The higher lv of stone you have, you can put more variety of stone in these six slots.

Yeah not to many of us have lvl 10 stones due to costs :p I got 7/8 on most of mine. So would say 3 lvl 5 or 6 counter stones be worth it on say main, or do they need to be 9/10's to bother?

Should be enough, the counter/STA stones I am using also around that level.

Hmm Ok, I can do that. Last thing, any suggestion on the Espada 2 fights? Specifically the first 1v1 and 5v5. My group atm is Sajin,  Main, Ikkaku, Yoruichi and Urahara. Should I also use the lvl 9 skill? Or stick with 10?
